(Coming Soon) Make Your Own Climate Strike Sign!
Climate change is here and is already affecting the lives of everyone on Earth. As residents of Chicago, we haven’t felt the impacts of climate change as drastically as millions of others have around the world. This can lead us to feel a false sense of security. Nevertheless, the crisis is real, and we need to do what we can to help stop climate change and transform our society. One small step is to acknowledge climate change by setting up a strike sign and talking to people about climate change every Friday.

We invite you to come paint your own climate strike sign.
We have pre-made, blank white signs and have paint for your slogan. This is an opportunity to be creative, reflect on what the climate crisis means for you and your community, and learn something new about climate change. We will be discussing climate protests around the world, the importance of getting involved, and the power each of us has to make a difference.
Why don’t we just sell signs?
Over the next ten years we need to cut our green house gas emissions by 50% to avoid the most catastrophic effects of climate change. The environmental consequences if we don’t do this will be devastating for much of life on Earth. It is imperative that we pause for a moment, that we stop doing business as usual, and that we step back and think about the climate crisis – about what in our lives is really important, and about what needs to be done. For this reason, we invite you to create some space in your day to come create your own Climate Strike sign.
