New Year's Resolutions 2020!
I will…
- Reduce the amount of beef I eat, maybe stop eating beef completely!
- Speak to someone about Climate Change every Friday. #FridaysForFuture
- Attend a 2020 Global Climate Strike, and bring some friends
- Show five friends the Climate Clock and talk to them about what it means for us, and what it means for people in a developing country.
- See if my school, organization, or state has joined the US Climate Alliance, America’s Pledge, or We Are Still In and is trying to meet the Paris Climate Agreement goals.
- Ask for a meeting or workshop to be virtual instead of driving or flying to meet in person.
- Reduce food waste. Follow @zerowastechicago on Instagram.
- Cut my use of gas-powered cars in half for local trips. Walk, bike, or use public transportation.
- Commit to carpooling to work or school one day a week.
- Will (or will have my family) switch to renewable power sources from our electricity provider.
- Divest from fossil fuels. Invest in renewable energy.
Or
- I’ll learn about the need to completely stop fossil fuel use and investment. Check out Do The Math and organizations like Rising Tide Chicago and Rising Tide North America.
- I’ll learn about the Paris Agreement. The NRDC summary page is useful.
- I’ll read about the status of greenhouse gas emissions on Our World in Data.
- I’ll watch the film This Changes Everything, by Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein.
- I’ll watch David Attenborough’s Our Planet, available on Netflix.
